Voices of Strength Safety Team- Volunteer Needed
Men and women working together to create an environment of safety and support
On January 26th, 2013, The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay will present their annual Voices of Strength: Night of Epression event in collaboration with the Sexual Violence Task Force of Tampa Bay and Carrollwood Cultural Center.
We are calling upon the men in our community to stand as allies against sexual and domestic violence by inviting volunteers to join the Men Stopping Violence Against Women Safety Team. By joining this team, men will assist in creating a safe and protected area by escorting participants to and from their vehicles and greeting event attendees. The goal is to have men and women working together to create a safe environment of support.
This event will take place in Carrollwood Cultural Center, from approximately 4:00 PM-7:00 PM. We appreciate all that you do, and together we can empower survivors throughout their journey towards healing!
The Safety Team Orientation will be scheduled for an hour prior to the event and we ask all Safety Team participants to arrive at 3:00 PM. Individuals who register for this important volunteer position should provide a referance and may be requested to partake in a background check.
